A Go Fund Me account has been set up to help Santos pay for his medical bills. Santos offered up a few words to MMA Fighting.

“I’m under observation now, and will have surgery in the United States. I had a serious injury, but Bellator is giving me all the support I need. I’ll be back soon,” he said, which no has timetable as he isn’t clear to fly yet.

According to Bellator MMA commentator Jimmy Smith, he was told by an former EMT-turned cutman that he had only previously witnessed an injury like that after a severe car crash accident.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Santos; here’s hoping to a speedy recovery.
