Croft was previously played by Angelina Jolie in a two separate films. The Tomb Raider video game franchise has sold over 45 million copies worldwide since the first installment was launched in 1996.
Back in March, it was reported that Star Wars actress Daisy Ridley had been in discussions to play Croft. “I’m waiting for someone to say ‘I want you, let’s do it,’” Ridley said in a later interview about the rumors.
